Closer only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Actually, as a Republican voter in Washington State who is sick about the way the Democratic party has just about stolen the State Governor's election and the general voter apathy, I would have to disagree with you.
The saying that if the election is not close, the Dem's can't steal it is a very true statement. I am sure that had the Dem's been able to get "real close" they would have had litigation plans and specialized recount plans to fabricate a "win" in Ohio for Kerry.
