My sympathy for SriLanka has suddenly dropped off considerably.

Just remember, tens of thousands have died and undoubtably hundreds of thousands (or more) have either lost everything, lost family members, are suffering, or all of the above.

I'm sure the average Sri Lankan "joe" would take help from wherever it comes from. Don't let the action of a few twisted political or religious leaders deminish the sympathy that should go to those who are suffering.
