NEW YORK - "You drop on the top of some mountain somewhere in some tiny little village in the middle of the night, and it's pitch-black all around you," Lara Logan remembers. "When you land, it's like the ground rises up to devour you, and from intelligence you know there are people with weapons in that village and they may or may not be ready to attack."

That is one seriously beautiful woman.
If I was a member of the military I would tell them to stay the heck away from me after seeing what sixty minutes did during the election.
ROTFLMAO!
That's also one seriously staged publicity photo.
She's certainly attractive, redhead with green eyes and all, but I wouldn't bet on her looking like that after a night in a spiderhole with a pair of Team 5 snipers....
There was a guy on another posting of this article who was one of the people who vetted her. He said she did a very good job.
She does't. She is attractive, but like that when out in the field.
er....not like that
I dunno, but I know what I could put on it.
Mack Bolan returns!
The trouble is that she likely won't have control over the editing and presentation of her work.
I hope this shows how great our troops are and the work they do, but I wouldn't trust CBS and especially 60 Minutes to do the right thing.

You mean she didn't have to shave her head in order to do the story? If she had, I might watch it. Otherwise, I too, will be washing the dog...or alphabetizing my DVD collection...or...
You couldn't pay me to watch 60 Minuets (intended) any more. If the story is any good, one of you who plan to watch can post and tell us washers and alphabetizers all about it. If it's even worth the effort.

Some nice photos and background here.
Yup, she's hot.
Seems she's tweaking her image a bit... No doubt her looks are an asset in the field, especially the exclusively male field where she was.... embedded.
I hope she doesn't disappoint our SEALs and disclose things she shouldn't - sounds like she is on our side.......
Seems they have their fair share of idiots just like any other group in this country. They're not perfect.
I thought it was great - very well done, and to me, essentially bias free.
Logan did a fine job in an overwhelming environment, and the interviews with individual SEALS were priceless.
The opening few minutes, showing the mission planning process and helo insertion, were awesome. I spent 30 minutes on the remote reviewing the gear, from the RBR headgear to their unique body armor, and wide assortment of hardware, tactical nylon, and weapons.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The 556mm M4 SOPMOD was the weapon of choice, outfitted with either the 4x32 ACOG, or Aimpoint M68. The PEQ/PAQ series of visible/IR lasers were also popular, along with Surefire weapon lights.
Snipers appeared to be carrying AR10 variants, although it was hard to tell from the brief, distant video. It wasn't an M1A or M14.
Pistols were DA autos - M9, and SIG or HK. I didn't see any 1911's.
A huge variety of load bearing gear and individual equipment, they seemed to favor chest magazine rigs and tactical vests.
Every team member had a commo rig, with boom mike. RBR helmets with a unique NVD mount, didn't see it in use but it looked similar to the unit the Army developed for the PASGT/ACH helmets and PVS14.
