Sea water soaked new cars. Hey, no problem, it's under warranty! :-)

I have heard of cars being dropped into Tokyo bay while being shipped back to the US for U.S. military personnel. Imagine the condition of same after crossing the Pacific -- in the hold of a ship -- while soaked with seawater...

OTOH, I know personally of two families whose 2,000-lb crates of personal "hold baggage" suffered the same fate. You should see a big reel-to-reel tape deck that has 'stewed' in seawater for a couple of months... Yuck!

Once a vehicle has been immersed in salt water, you pretty much have to rebuild the entire engine.

Happened to these guys.
