I think it's a safe to say that most of, if not all, the entire world wishes the Great Earthquake and Great Tsunami of 2004 is an unusual collective nightmare that at sunrise, at any moment now, we will awake from.
The harsh reality is that was a nightmare, a living nightmare occurring while we were fully awake.
Ping! Hope you and your family had a good Christmas!
Well, thank you and Happy New Year to you and your family!!!
Yes, I would be interested in more information about this event.
Anyone have a news link??

Welcome to FR.
To be all that frank I'm not sure I'd recongize the difference between an unusually tall wave and a tsunami either...
Seriesly?
How can religious people explain something like this?

We're all struggling with this calamity-catastrophe.
It's probably what is left of the pier.
From http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2004/s2200.htm:
"The photo was taken from the Brigham Victory, which was in the harbor at the time of the event. The ship was caught by the waves and tossed about but was able to use its own power to avoid the reefs and get past the breakwater to the open sea."
The article doesn't say why the man was out there, but what a terrible way to die.
The above quote and link was copied straight from the http://chamorrobible.org/gpw/gpw-20050103.htm ("The Great Earthquake and Catastrophic Tsunami of 2004") where it's the -- get this -- 12th tsunami-related photo. The other 11 pics are definitely worth viewing too.
