Wood found on Mars? Not Photoshoped - off the nasa website.
Nasa.gov ^

now im not a betting man, but i know landrovers and there space caps are not made of wood. This clearly looks like a wooden plank to me. Unless someone hacked Nasa.gov's website and put up a photoshop'ed photo, this looks kinda odd.

"WHY would she send me a picture of a bunch of carrots?"It's not the gift, it's the thought behind it.
Seriesly, you should feel left out, everybody who is somebody, or not, got a FReepmail spanking....and it stung....or not.....and we promised not to do it again......or not......
Oh! the humanity!

"please note: I sent a copy to the Admin Moderator. Serious here... I'm an amateur astronomer and this just irratates the H#LL out of me." The picture or the thread?
If it's the picture, I suspect that's why the thread disintegrated. Most of us don't have the experience to make a valid call on this object, but the fact NASA and the MSM didn't make a "BIG DEAL" out of it, caused the skeptics among us to blow it off.
If it's the silly stuff on the thread, it's certainly no worse than the "never ending thread".

This is a valid picture linked off Nasa's website. If you think its total BS please tell them to delete it out of there picture directory. Dont blame me. What you are looking at is a real photo.

I've gone tot the sight and it just displays the one picture. no words explaining. no next page. no link to return or go to. it's a joke.
if it was real... this would be major. as an amateur astronomer I have checked all known sites for any verification. there is NONE!
nice joke. but pure crap.

Perhaps you should try to refute it as I have done instead of crying to the mods like a lost puppy. And perhaps the humor of wood on mars is lost on you. I offer 12 bucks to keep the thread.

YOU ARE CORRECT. PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGY. I WAS WRONG! It is a REAL picture. This cylindrical-projection view combines several frames from the navigation camera on NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity. The rover acquired these frames during its 115th martian day, or "sol," in the Meridiani Planum region of Mars, on May 21, 2004. The rover was near the edge of "Endurance Crater," which dominates the right half of this view. The crater is about 130 meters (about 430 feet) in diameter.

Looks like a railroad tie. Martians must of had a great rail system before Martian global warming hit.
