I sure don't know why anyone would use AOL, but I have to do tech support for our members, and AOL drives me crazy, especially since it doesn't automatically copy the email you are responding to into the current email. I correspond with hundreds of people, and I often have to go fishing through my "sent mail" folder to try to figure out what they are talking about. :-(

If you are really popular, tell your users you won't work with aol subscribers any longer. I know, sometimes you can't, but it sounds really nice. Goodluck!

I found that to be a particularly annoying quirk. I looked around and tried a bunch of things, but couldn't get it to work.

I finally got ahold of some "AOL helper person" online, and learned that if you highlight the text in the original e-mail (or whatever portion you want), then hit Reply, it will include the text in the reply e-mail.

Now you just have to pass that on to all the hundreds of people you're corresponding with. Good luck! :-)
