Somebody inform Barbra Strident ASAP!
"Fifty years ago the coastline was not densely occupied as now by tourist hotels."
Rich AMERICAN tourists. And rich American is synonymous with Republican. It won't be long before even the dim bulbs at Democracy Now! figure this one out.
Don't ya just love folks that predict disasters after the fact? What's his next amazing feat of prescience--predicting snow on the North Pole?
And apparently they're smart enough to not build fragile structures, drive cars etc.
Gee, if more children had been aborted then fewer people would have been killed by the tsunami. Another reason to support Planned Parenthood...! </ sarcasm >
It's America's fault!
Ok what natural protection is going to counteract a 40FOOT TALL wave that covers 8 countrys unless these enviro freaks are willing to plant redwood saplings on the shores of every single island nation on earth there is not a lot that can be done to protect the shore lines from tsunamis other then getting the democrats to outlaw ocean earthquakes since goverment laws can cure all of the worlds problems accordingto the libs

Dan Rather said it was because of "Global Warming"

As if nothing was ever destroyed to make room for the nitwit author's living space (now in Switzerland perhaps?). When he lived in Indonesia/Thailand, did he live in a mangrove swamp? Inland with the indigeneous peoples? Or in comfortable Euro-style settings?
"Jeff McNeely, chief scientist" should be "Jeff McNeely, chief idiot."
How is it these people get these titles and jobs?
Note to Jeff: You can be pretty sure that the things we do on earth are miniscule compared to the magnificent, unstoppable, awesome power of an earthquake and ensuing tsunami. You might wish to resign your position as "chief scientist," because you are not one.
CNN had something dippy like this on it's website a few minutes ago but I can't find it now. They were quoting an "expert" from Greenpeace who said that sea level was already higher because of global warming and that is why this tsunami was so deadly. Oh brother!
If only there were no people, no one would have been killed.
They're so predictable.
