well, well, well....not only did that e-mail work but after sending old Jan a nasty note I got a response.
My note was titled "America Stingy?" and was as follows:
Hey Jan...maybe you can go take a collection from the corrupt UN and the dirtbags skimming money off the food-for-oil program which deprived many in Iraq of basic human services.....or maybe you can ask muslim countries to ante up and help their brothers in need...or maybe you can tell those cheap bastards in Europe to give their due...until then shut up!
His response:
I never called US stingy. I asked the rich world to give more than their present 0,2 percent of national income to foreign assistance. Cnn misquoted me and have since corrected this.
the "Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Handheld" was from his note- I, who live in a rich country, cannot afford one.
If nothing else I give him credit for responding.
I sent the same challenging email to all three email addresses.
