Somalia is a place where people die in large numbers due to the ineptness of the government. It would seem hypocritical to suddenly care about them because they died in a tidal wave.

Although philosophically I understand what you're saying, I do have so much sadness today for all those poor people whose lives were destroyed by an unforeseen act of nature.
