Also, I thought being “Texan” or “Nevadan” traditionally had to do with your place of birth. But whatever.

Being "Texan" has to do with whether or not your ancestors were there before 1845.

Being "Texican" has to do with whether or not your ancestors were there before 1836.

Everyone else is a "Resident".

Being Texan is like being an American. It's a state of mind. If you are fearless, courageous, moral, have ethics, fight for justice, believe in freedom, are willing to die for liberty you are American where ever you were born.
