In the halls we gaily play
holly, mistletoe, and tinsel, too
Old Tannenbaum, graces the palace fireplace wall
and friend and family gather and cheer
Old Saint Nick it almost here!

Children are sleeping with wonderful dreams,
Their parents are here, making some of their own,
Youth is their time, to play idly by streams,
until that time comes, when they must be grown,

And tonight, of all nights, that time has returned,
reborn and re-fashioned from memories and love,
for Christmas enchantment has captured each one of us,
our voices raised up to the stars up above,

And the laughter, that jolly sound filling the air,
is the counterpoint tune to the heart and the hearth,
As the holly decks the hallways, and the mistletoe beckons,
after strolling in the chill 'round the tamarack garth.

So come! All ye revellers! Come! All ye merry ones!
We sing and we dance and we take up our airs,
at the Canteeners' Ball at the midnight clock's chiming
as we cast off the old year, and with it our cares!
