This little newpaper serves the town of Chitral, a valley in the Hindu Kush.
The newspaper has been publishing a series of letters to the editor called "Osama in Chitral?" Six letters had been posted so far. The debate has been lively.
The newspaper has been publishing a series of letters to the editor called "Osama in Chitral?" Six letters have been posted so far. The series had been reported on in the Pakistani paper called The Daily Times because an American had written two letters in the series.
Officially, the Pakistani government denies that Osama is near Chitral. However, both American and Pakistani media have identified Chitral as a possible hiding place for Osama Bin Laden.
According to one Pakistani media account, 90 CIA officials and Grey Fox helicopters have gone to Chitral to look for Osama.
The NYT reports that the CIA has small bases in this NW frontier area of Pakistan.
Hopefully, this loss of service is only some technical problem.

I have had some very cordial Christmas greetings from Muslims in Chitral.
Some want us to send in the marines and wisk away Osama.
They have an exaggerated idea of our superpowers. They think we are magicians, not just Americans.
Ask them please to help us catch Osama if they get a chance. But ask them to be careful.
Interesting letters. I don't know how much they say about Osama's location.
