Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) which includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. In 2005, Russia plans to conduct joint military maneuvers with Tajikistan.

I never hear of CSTO before...

Speaking about international cooperation, the defense ministry spokesperson noted that the Russia-NATO Council is developing a plan for joint maneuvers. In particular, the sides envision joint Russian-French navy maneuvers with deployment of strategic nuclear forces.

In addition, the sides plan to conduct joint actions in the Mediterranean with participation of the U.S. Armed Forces and troops from non-NATO countries.

Also, the Russian Defense Ministry does not exclude a possibility of joint military exercises with Germany.

I recall reading about that grouping.....confusion. Then we have the US welcoming former members of USSR into NATO. Then we have all the undercurrents of competition for oil pipeline routes....
(recall we almost had a financial deal with the Taliban over an oil pipeline deal....)
Now we have China and Russia announcing joint war games.

I am at a loss. Sooner rather than later a nuclear weapon is going to be detonated.

I don't know and am thinking they don't know either.

It is the same as when the handshake was invented.

It was first used to show that your hand did not contain a weapon.

Today it is more likely, mine is bigger and better than yours.
