I was going to answer "yes".

The Sheriff of Las Vegas is on KDWN radio as a guest once a month.

A caller asked him if the lasers were a state or federal law.

He said yes on the federal law, and was not sure about the state law.

He also said that a few years ago, there were a lot of problems with them being used on the police helicopters pilots.

Also several of the casino were using them as spot lights.

The casinos were asked to remove theirs.

There are a lot of plane crashes in Las Vegas.

I am 100 miles from them so listen half the day to them on the radio.

This sort of thing happened in Murphy, NC when they were looking for Eric Rudolph.

A kid had a pointer and flashed it through the make-shift office of the FBI. It was on all the news as to who had done this.

So a good old boy went to tell the FBI that his kid had shinned the pointer in there office and they were both sorry and he would punish his kid.

Now this was on TV. The good old boy was grabbed by FBI and thrown on the sidewalk and cuffed. He and the kid had to go to Federal Prison in Asheville. Last I heard he was going to do time. 10 years the dad not the kid.
