The Threat Matrix
The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.
"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."
We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. |

WASHINGTON - A terrorist attack on a tanker loaded with liquefied natural gas could cause massive damage a third of a mile away and could send a vapor cloud billowing more than 1.5 miles, government scientists say. With the the nation clamoring for more natural gas, policy-makers are trying to figure out how to safely import large quantities of liquefied natural gas or LNG.

"ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Canadian border security is being escalated to head off troublemakers going to the U.S. for Thursday's inauguration of President George W. Bush. U.S. security said the event will feature the tightest security in inaugural history, with police searching thousands of spectators along the Washington, D.C., parade route with metal detectors. As early as today Canada Customs officers will begin using dogs, X-ray and other hi-tech machines to check for bombs or explosives in vehicles, trucks and goods crossing into the U.S."
This makes me angry since they should have been doing this all along. Thanks for all your informative posts Cindy.

I do, too.
Trouble is, the greater uniformity in appearance among Chinese in Western eyes (and it's a fact not a stereotype--Chinese regard caucasians as varying wildly in appearance and find it either amusing or disconcerting) means that if they have changed their hairstyle, gained weight or gone on a diet, the passport photos won't be much help to the vigilant citizen.
If this is a real threat, and they are radicalized Hui Muslims, that's probably the reason AQ picked them for the job.

This is updated information about those Chinese nationals who have supposedly entered the United States through Mexico. The FBI has published a nationwide bulletin for all law enforcement to be on the lookout (BOLO) for 11 Chinese nationals, not just four as has been previously reported. in the report they are listed as possibly armed and dangerous and "All pose risk to national security" They have the names on all of them and I have included them here. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1324561/posts

Good point. A good hunting buddy of mine has a plan to drop trees across the entrance to his place.
My safe zone requires a 4x4 to get there. Keeps out the riffraff.

Thanks, CoCo.
Sounds like a good day to stay home and FReep, although Mr. RR is threatening to chain me to the ironing board. I wonder if there is a way I can iron, FReep and watch the inaugural all at the same time.
I'm wondering if the Chinese are meeting a shipping container.....and where? Or more than one? Our company brings in four or five containers a week from other countries, and I know they are not all inspected.
Now they are just BOLO-ing the Chinese. What happened to the two Iraqis in the original report?
To: all4one
This additional story that you have posted listing smuggled Chinese is making me very uneasy.I hadn't realized that this was in addition to the stories that you posted. Good grief.
To: Rushmore Rocks
turn the TV way up so you can hear it and move the ironing board to the computer. Shirt, freep, pants, freep, shirt, freep . . .

LOL!
Great minds and all that. I just moved the ironing board into the computer room. Fortunately, I have a TV in here also. Those shirts and pants may get done verrrrrry slooooooooowly.
To: Rushmore Rocks
I know, I wondered about them too. No mention by LE of the Iraqi's, the whole story stinks IMHO.
I posted to someone on that 11 Chinese thread who asked "why bother smuggling arms/bombs when you can ship them", saying that you smuggle the human diversion, rat them out, and have the others meet up with the hardware that was shipped conveniently to the appropriate location.
Ironing and FReeping......I don't buy anything that needs ironing anymore. ;)

Of course, there is the $60K question of why would a coyote even turn those people in. ....Speciculation.....General thought about the turn-in is that they short changed the coyote, so he created this to get back at them.

The FBI has published a nationwide bulletin for all law enforcement to be on the lookout (BOLO) for 11 Chinese nationals, not just four as has been previously reported. One listed is about 13 years old, hmmmmmm a little young so what would be the terror angle?

I don't bother ironing anything whether it's stay-pressed or not.
How does one tell after an hour or so of wearing, anyway?
Thankfully, it's not critical in my work! LOL.
