I am glad that someone else around here besides me sees this point.

I agree with you as well. If you are paying for the roads, and have proven yourself competent to drive through what I think should be a more strict licensing procedure (a/la aircraft pilots) - then you have every RIGHT in the world to drive.

Your parents give you priveledges, not the government. We own the roads.

Your rights are granted by the benevolent bureaucrats at the DMV.

I am surprised that the likes of Rhenquist and Scalia can look at themselves in the mirror in the morning afters kow-towing to the power of the state in this regard. It is an unsighltly blemish on otherwise respectable records.
