Unfortunately as Bethlehem is part of the PA, not Israel, and if a sharia governed state is established, the future may well be bleak. Tourist dollars has never been an incentive to the PA in the past.
Its a bloody sad shame Bethlehem is not still under Israel. As I recall, when Israel controlled it, tourism flourished and there were always big crowds going to Bethlehem at Christmas and Easter.
