While not everyone shares that self loathing, those that manifest violence do fit the M. O. you describe. However, that crosses into the heterosexual portion of the population as well. But you and some of the others are right that if you are homosexual in a society that hates you...you run a higher risk of developing deep seated self-loathing. Once you are at that point, domestic violence is probably not far behind and you will probably be the perpetrator.

People don't loathe homosexual behavior because they want to. It's natural since homosexual behavior is very unnatural. That loathing is a defense mechanism to keep homosexual behavior out. However, human beings being the complex creatures we are, can do the very things we don't want to do.

The solution is not to learn not to loathe homosexual behavior. The solution is to make treatment more readily available and to de-stigmatize seeking treatment so that everyone can easily get the help they need.

It would never change the self loathing factor since it will always be using a human body against design. If society accepts crack cocain use that will not change the destructive behavior. (a rose by any other name ...)

It would be interesting to know the rate of gay/gay violence in countries that openly accept homosexuality. I would bet it is nearly the same, if not identical, to what we see here in the U.S. I don't believe the violence is related to anything other than dysfunctional behavior between dysfunctional people.

Johhnycap, if you don't want to be disliked for being a homo, make a choice to NOT be a homo. It is a cureable malady. Research shows that 27% of the homos who go into long term therapy for ANYTHING, even fingernail biting, come out the other end straight. If you think society dislikes homos (and we do because of the outrageous behavior and huge amount of child molestation/recruitment) then keep your DAMNED homosexuality to yourself. When was the last time you saw a "straight pride" parade? Ya think maybe the dislike by biologically, physiologically, sociologically and theologically correct society, like the gender choice, IS SELF-INFLICTED by the behavior choices homos make? If you engage in "in-your-face" behavior it is just a matter of time until someone REMOVES your face from their's by whatever means they choose. When that happens, who is to blame?
