Do you you have a personal bone to pick with Pinochet. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed, tortured or disappeared without a trace at the hands of various rightist and leftist dictators in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala, Salvador, etc. No outrage here. Pinochet is by far not the worst of them all. What's up with that? Maybe, because Allende was such a favorite with all the Leftists and the Soviet Union? Are those hundreds of thousands of people in other Latin American countries any inferior to the Chileans, whose lost lives are of course regrettable. Just wonder.

No personal bone, other than the attrocities committed under his watch far outweigh any positives that came out of his reign after he assumed and retained power 'legally', imo.

Why would you have an urge to rush to his defense?

You'll have to ask our past administrations why they were so tardy re: the other thousands of people tortured, killed and disappeared, or the UN or the OAS .. or.. yourself maybe.
