I'm flabbergasted anyone would try that fraud anymore. The SEALS are a pretty tight knit, elite brotherhood - the capers of poseurs don't have very long shelf lives.

A few months ago I interviewed a job applicant who claimed to have been a SEAL. His reason for separation from his previous job was (and I'm quoting his application) - "Supervisor didn't like me talking about killing people."

I mentioned that I had a customer whose son was a SEAL just back from Iraq and this fellow started craw-fishing. He said "Well, I, I wasn't actually a SEAL, I just worked with them a while." Needless-to-say, I didn't hire him.
