OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Washington state's Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that hundreds of belatedly discovered ballots from Seattle's King County should be counted in the extremely close governor's race - potentially enough to tip the balance in favor of Democrat Christine Gregoire.

Recall in WA is difficult to impossible at best.

If Gov. Gregoire were successfully recalled, Lt. Gov. Brad Owen, a Democrat, would replace her. Gov. Owen would then appoint a replacement lieutenant governor who would be up before the voters in the next general election for a contest to finish his term.
If Gregoire wins, there is no mechanism through which Rossi could become governor.
This is it.

Is there a recall option? Yes, but consider this. Gregoir, our three-term Attorney General, while exercising her duties as Attorney General, lost this state over $20 M due to what I can only call malfeasance in that office. And she was the top-flight Dem candidate.
