Whoa! My kid thinks it is funny that say "crick" for creek...
Thought I was one of the few....
Last year when my daughters were in first grade, their class was trying to find lots of homophones (words that are spelled differently and sound the same).
I grew up in Texas and these words sound the same in Texas.
Pin & Pen, Din & Den, Bin & Ben, Tin & Ten
However, we live in California and they are not considered homophones here. I've told my daughters that their teachers are wrong, and they are homophones.
I think you're funny, too. Everyone knows a crick is smaller than a creek.
Oops, my last post was suppose to convey that "I" say crick instead creek...
My husband, whose speech has apparently been heavily influenced by his mother who grew up in far southern Illinois, has this habit of saying "LAW-yer" instead of "LOY-er". Interesting.......
