It's such a bummer to NOT shop at Target. Their $19.99 cardigans look just like the cashmere ones at the mall, and don't itch. They have martini glasses that are similar to Murano from Italy. And their Christmas stuff is more elegant than Martha Stewart's--and the same price if not cheaper.

Maybe the secret is to take from them that which is good, as cheaply as possible, and not get the regular stuff, like detergent, that can be bought elsewhere. Store ads and sales are often loss-leaders just promoted to get you to come in and buy something else at regular price. If they are only selling the stuff which is priced to lose, the corporation won't profit.

BTW, I have yet to be in a store this holiday season, with the exception of Borders, that seemed crowded. Anyway they look at it, retailers are probably not having that good a year if they are Sear, Target, Wal-Mart, or K-Mart.
