I didn't bring up that article, someone else pointed it out with the theory that this article (the one at the beginning of this thread) may have resulted from the additions the original vet-related e-mail picked up during its travels and evolution. As for your insight into the motivations of all involved, I congratulate you on your finely honed mind-reading abilities. I have no such powers, and therefore make no assumptions as to the reasons for the behavior of the individuals involved.
Everyone has a bias. My opinion is that the operators of snopes.com do a pretty good job of balancing their site. Your opinion may differ. So be it.
That article is hardly the reason for claiming that the Snopes couple are leftists. They defend their biases by saying that "true/false/indeterminate" depends on the framing statement.
They are still unwilling to call Hillary a liar for claiming that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. Instead they slouch and say that perhaps her mother lied to the little girl Hillary.
