If you are looking for a non-digital SLR for your Nikon lenses, look for a used F3. It can take any Nikon lens ever made and works well on microscopes. It takes interchangeable prisms, so you can put on a right angle finder or a high magnification eyepiece for accurate focusing with the microscope. F3 prices are plummeting.

One great quirk of the D70 is the fact that it will take almost any Nikon lens, including old, pre-AI lenses in manual mode. You won't have metering or autofocus, but an old lens from 1970 will produce beautiful images on a 2004 vintage digital camera.

I'm going to take back the statement about the non-AI lenses. They can fit on a D-70 and work, but it requires a little tab at the bottom of the lens mount to get pushed out of the way. It works but isn't a good Idea.

(The tab at the bottom isn't on any of my other Nikon SLRs which have a meter-coupling tab on the top of the lens mount.)

Thanks. I have wondering about just such a possibility except didn't consider which component to replace. I'm swapping em out. It's a Thermaltake with the pretty disco lights. If that's it, I'll be relieved.

I just bought a cheap 4 mega pixel Olympus and bought an Olympus waterproof housing for mine for when I scuba dive, it took great pictures! Much easier than 35mm underwater photography, I could stick around and get the shot that I wanted, rather than guess.

I have a few pictures up on my FR Profile page I took last month in Thailand.

I bought my grandson the A75 Canon at Staples on the advise of his mother. Can you swap back and forth on the battery pack , ie rechargeable and alkaline?

Sony Ping!

I have two digital cameras. A Sony DSC-F707 5 mp. It has almost 30,000 photos to its credit. It started to act up and then I bought a Sony DSC-F828 8mp. The 828 has almost 10,000 photos on it. Both are wonderful! I carry the 828 with me in my purse. It isn't the smallest, but it takes amazing photos. I give the 707 to whoever needs it or stick it with a pilot in one of the balloons to take pics. If it gets dropped from 500 feet, oh well.

For loads of photos from both cameras- www.usflagballoon.com
