This is unbelievably sad. I kinda liked the guy. He gave lots to charity then talked about how the money would help put unemployed back to work, now this? Life just isn't fair.

At first they said that foul play was not expected in his grandaughter's disappearance. This is really bizarre.

This and the cesarian murdress leads me to have doubts about humanity.

My prayers go out for the lottery winner and his family.

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. (AP) - The 17-year-old granddaughter of Jack Whittaker, winner of the nation's biggest undivided lottery jackpot, was found dead Monday along a country road, more than two weeks after she disappeared. The cause of death was under investigation. Authorities said there were no obvious signs of violence. An autopsy was planned. .....

In September, an 18-year-old friend of his granddaughter was found dead at Whittaker's home. That death remains under investigation. Whittaker was out of town at the time.

Winning the lottery seems to be a curse. And not just with this guy. Winner after winner after winner have massive problems and many end up bankrupt in a few years.

Winning the lottery seems to be a curse.

By itself, it isn't, but if these people knew how to handle money they wouldn't be playing the lottery.

It isn't news until the 7th time. And then it can be reposted after that once 12 hours has elapsed. Then there will be the one thought vanities on the same topic put up in Breaking News. Then you will start to hear how it's the GOP's fault and how Ashcroft drove people mad and into a killing rage with his violation of our rights and freedom. oh, and don't forget the illegal aliens from mexico that made the plastic tarp and then the AARP folks who drive the lotteries. And then there will be the folks who will blame Rumsfeld. For what? Hell, I don't know. But blaming Rumsfeld is chic' right now...

You actually can copy and paste some of the text from the story on here. Really, it's okay. Or at the very least tell us what you're asking Santa for. Something....anything.

Not so. Personal responsibility. If these people cannot manage their lives ... while wealthy or poor is no excuse.

Jack is the owner of a fairly successful contracting company that has built dozens of very large buildings in West Virginia.

He was a millionare before powerball, but not THAT much of one.
