Don't know how anyone could take it for more than ten days. It tears my stomach to pieces by the second day.
I've been on it for over 2 years, and celebrex before that. I guess I am screwed. I guess you have to die of something!
I take it occasionally for back pain, but when I do need it, I need three or four to do the job.
I hope you don't scare me, but I would appreciate your opinion!

I was on three tabs/eight hours continuously for three years. And, yes, it left my upper GI screwed.
In a related announcement , The FDA also issued a warning that ingesting oxygen, consuming comestibles or engaging in any sort of locomotive activity would lead to a 100% increase in the onset of potential and terminal cessation of life. Therefore it has recommended that those not yet alive to remain as such.

Ouch! Hope it's not cumulative. When I ruptured a disk a few years ago, I took 3 500mg naproxen tablets every day for six months. I'm glad that's behind me, lol!

It doesn't hurt my stomach - I do not take any naproxen product.
Tylenol can destroy your liver.
I limit my use of painkillers to a rare aspirin - it is still the best for a headache or joint discomfort. IMO.
Studies confirm that birth leads to death in 100% of cases.
I tried Naprosyn for headaches one time....no effect whatsoever, just like Advil and Tylenol. Nothing works for me but aspirin.
On an empty stomach, Naprosyn tears me up also, it's the worst. Advil is close behind.I can take celebrex with just water.
Advil and Naprosyn are O.K. with food. But about a day later, I can get what feels like cramping in various places in my digestive system, from back of the throat to the, well, very end.
back to "just ice it."
This whole business smacks of politically correct junk science. One guy dies, he happens to be on the flavor-of-the-day cox inhibitor, and they take the stuff off the market, penalizing the patients who need it and the investors who hold Merck, Pfizer, etc., stock (and create more money making opportunites for the trial lawyer leeches).

I just came from the Celebrex thread.
My wife had been on Vioxx when they pulled that drug.
She and other women in her office realized they had been experiencing some of the heart problem symptoms from the Vioxx.
Dr. put her on Celebrex (the 400mg that causes 2.5x the heart & stroke problems as apposed to the 2x of the Vioxx).
Last night wife said maybe she should go back to Aleve!
All the prescribed drugs for arthritis have bad side affects, some worse than others. NONE of them promote healing.
Got arthritis?, try the glucosamine, MSM, vit C, + other stuff in liquid form. Health food store, grocery store or feed store. Doesn't work for all types of arthritis but if it does it will actually promote healing.

Ok, I just looked up that patent date for Naproxen. It expired in 1993 so that means it was issued in 1976. I think a nearly 30 year track record of actual use means the chances of this drug being a problem are extremely remote.

Read the f'n bottle. It states on the label how much to take for how long. The article states all the needed information in the first paragraph and the rest of it is doom and gloom. Rehashing old news and trying to create drug scare.
Has anyone noticed there are a lot of things in this world that could cause us harm? Taking medications, not taking them, driving a car, walking your dog...I think we're all destined to die from something some day....(/sarcasm(in case I had to))
Naproxen tells ya on the label, that it may cause stomach problems. Also mentions that if you have aspirin sensitivity to NOT take the naproxen.
I thought that tylenol messed up one's kidneys also?
