I suggest that Arnold move to the democrat party where he belongs.

Be very careful what you wish for.

If he changed parties in California, term limits would be the only legitimate way to get rid of him. At least now he can be stopped in the next primary.

If Schwarzenegger made this move on a national scale and our laws were changed to allow his presidency, this country would be in for a wild ride. No telling what this Austrian megalomaniac would do given that kind of power.

Remember his basic belief: "People longed to be governed by a strong individual". A sentiment shared by most despots in the 20th century.

Arnie, I have a suggestion for you: take a flying leap!

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, the Republican party will never be more conservative with RINOs like Arnold. You can not become more conservative is you take one step forward for conservatism, and two steps back to liberalism.

And if you look at history, every time a liberal is elected President, the Republican party has had to become more liberal to appeal to voters. It has to stop. And I'm hoping GWBs second term will put the Republican party back where it belongs- on the right side of conservatism.

Although I live in Michigan, I, too, supported McClintock over Arnold. But many here supported Arnold because 'only he could win' and 'a little bit conservative is better than a liberal'. Well now, the wolf in sheep's clothing has emerged. And everyone seems shocked... everyone except those who supported McClintock.

I thank Arnold for supporting the President this election year, but crap like this is not going to help the Republican party AT ALL.

People longed to be governed by a strong individual.

HA! No, Arnold, people long to be LEAD by a strong individual. And I thought conservatives wanted to 'govern' their own lives, with as little interference from the government as possible. The strongest leader is the one who believes people should be responsible for their own lives, not that government should take care of them.

Arnold's statement scares the bejesus outta me. But hey, he is the only Republican that could have won California. /sarcasm

How about Arnold moving right and leave his wife's uncle out there swimming in his self generated history.

The political spectrum is a farce anyway. There is no left or right wing as portrayed. A true spectrum would have total govt on the left, and anarchy on the right. That eliminates the idiotic notion of a right wing dictator. The spectrum as it is shown now, allows for both ends to be where the whack jobs hang out. That makes only those in the middle as normal and desired. That allows for our political system to thrive, as we bounce back and forth from D to R, never reaching the goal of our founders, a constitutional Republic.

THIS WOULD BE A TERRIBLE STRATEGY - and this is only one of many reasons I did not vote for Arnold.

His wife is "softening him up". Bad move to go anywhere left..... maybe so north, west, right east, south, one of them .......... but NOT left!

It's always something to hear that he gives money and support to Ted Kennedy. That says it all. I know it's his wife's uncle but there is no way he deserves the kind of accolades Arnold gives him. I fail to see why he admires Ronald Reagan so much since he doesn't seem to share any of his values. Yet he wants to change the GOP from the party of Reagan to the party of Arnold? I don't think so.

In what respect? Please list Arnold's accomplishments. What he HAS done is get leftist policies instituted that would have been halted by the Republicans in the legislature had he been a Democrat.

This is true, but Arnold did help stop a few "knucklehead" propositions (66, 68, 70) during the last election... however, that probably amounts to beans since he helped pass 71 (stem cell research).

Props 57 and 58 were no accomplishment either. Arnold asked the people to borrow "one last time" so that he could "cut up the credit cards" and look where we are now: facing another $8 billion dollar shortfall.

I'd post his scorecard but I don't want you getting too depressed. ;-)

By taking all those steroids, Arnold S may be too soft as it is. One wonders whether he is a disappointment to his wife in performing his manly duties.

I often have wondered about that situation having never taken those sorts of drugs (just the fun ones).

But Maris S. is so skinny now she's about as attractive as Eleanor Clift or Cokie Roberts.

;-)

Yeh, I think Arnold (watching his body language over the weekend in a speech of his in Europe) is getting a little out of hand. He's telling the Republicans to move left. He's standing up like he wants to be a dictator of sorts. He may be going over the edge (without the nookie). Call a doctor.

;-)
