Most laws make more sense than the immigration laws. Murder, stealing, etc. are in fact murder, stealing, etc. all the time for all people. Immigration is more like a roulette wheel, sometime you are legal and sometimes you are not depending on where the ball bounces.
The very fact that we have "illegal" and "legal" immigration as opposed to "illegal" and "legal" armed robbery says a lot about the laws.
Like I said, it is an imperfect world and our laws are crazy but the best we can do.
