In an indication of the depths of hopelessness the city of San Francisco has reached through its suicidal liberalism, the profile of the police chief of San Francisco reads like a parody of liberal positions that you would find lampooned in an Onion article.
Given a political appointment that obviously sought to conform to every liberal creed, it is no wonder the police department of San Francisco is unable to cope with the rising crime wave in that city.
Here it is in full:
**********************************************
Heather Fong, Chief of Police, SFPD
Born in 1956 and raised in San Francisco, Chief Heather Fong holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco and a Masters degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University. She served as a Police Activities League Cadet and Civil Service Police Cadet prior to entering the Department. She was sworn in as a Police Officer in 1977, and worked through the ranks of inspector, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, commander, deputy chief, assistant chief, acting chief and, now permanent chief.
During her career, she has been assigned to patrol, served as an Academy training officer and instructor, child abuse investigator, youth programs coordinator, drug education instructor, grant writer, strategic planner, district station watch commander and commanding officer.
Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed her Acting Chief of Police on January 22, 2004 and Chief of Police on April 14, 2004.

Did her liberals arts degree and Social Work degree get your goat?
I wonder what the rank-and-file think of her?
She's a 27 year veteran of the force with an impressive resume. How is her appointment to chief worthy of an Onion parody?
Why is this like an article from the Onion?
I don't get it.
No English?
You need tough cops to fight crime. I would not call her resume "impressive". They wanted an Asian female to make a political statement.
And they found one with 27 years experience. I say they did good.
Too much liberal arts and social work. Too touchy feely. And on top of that she is probably gay. So they went for a trifecta of special groups, Asian gay female. ( I am note sure about the gay part, but it is likely).
Given that she is a Newsome appointee, it's probably NOT her ethnicity that landed her the job.
I say they continue with the misguided social experiment that is today's San Francisco.
It would get me. If you've ever seen Market St and the area south of it in SF, you'd wonder what kind of therapeutic fruit was running the SFPD. Fong takes the cake in that department.
I wonder what the rank-and-file think of her?
I know a couple of former SFPD guys. One was an ex Vietnam LRP type, with lots of good stories (like fun north of the DMZ). He was a big guy from Idaho, stopped in SF on his way back from Southeast Asia and got a job as a cop, never left. He used to work Hunter's Point. For the folks here from SF, that says it all. He was fearless, and inspired fear in a lot of other people who needed to know that emotion.
I won't print what he said about this chief and the people who put her in her position.
Connect the dots, dude. Do I have to spell everything out? Read #14
I don't get it.
It would be useful if you could provide some facts about her service. If I remember correctly when her officers complained that the perps were obtaining assault rifles they requested the same and Fong told them to go pound sand. Do you know if this true?
Can you imagine???? A city that has over 150,000 citizens of Chinese ancestry too. What are the odds?
Looks like she spent about a year on the street in her 27 year career.

Her ascent through the 1980s and 1990s was steady, but she often found herself working behind the scenes in low-profile jobs. For example, when she was promoted to captain in 1994, instead of running a police station or an investigative unit, she was put in charge of the department's planning section. It was a critical job that was far from exciting.
