I know many of us jump to conclusions when we don't know the whole story, but I want to thank you for the way you posted your comments - asking for prayers and praising the officials involved - very well done

ArmyTeach, last I heard today Ryan Redbird can move his arms but can't talk due to the tubes down his throat or a respirator but they are still having to give him blood so the likelihood that they'll take one of his legs to save his life is increasing.
I guess they can't get the artery fixed somewhere. Must have been a horrific wound that damaged the artery in several places maybe even hitting the one in his leg as well as the abdomen and groin area.
When Vanessa and her baby were murdered, our local Native Indians were up in arms (rightly so, in my opinion) and they were threatening to go after not only the ones who were involved in Vanessa and her baby's deaths but their families.
We had to have alot of police and deputies in our town for a while due to the threat of all out violence.
I'm afraid if Ryan dies that we'll need prayers for the whole town. Prayers that everything will stay calm and no one else get hurt, as well as for his family and friends.
Our Native Americans are a very close knit group. All the elders are either mom, dad, aunt or uncle. All their peers are siblings to them. At least this is what I have heard from them many times. Strangely, the person and accessories who murdered Vanessa and her baby were allegedly also trying to kill another certain young man. They supposedly planned the deaths on prom night, graduation night, and finaly got Vanessa and her baby in the summer. That certain young man was not in town when the murderer and accessories killed her and her baby and had planned yet again to kill him.
Well, he was the young man that *this* shooter supposedly was after in the hotel room when Ryan was shot through the door instead. This certain young man saw the shooter coming, slammed the hotel room door and hit the floor.
If I were this young man, I think I'd get some counseling to find out how come so many people want to kill me. Not only *want* to kill him but have actively tried to kill him.
Thanks to all for prayers! Our very small town has been hit hard lately by crimes that we are just not used to and so many innocent people hurt and affected by these crimes.

Even though the Native Americans feel that their peers are brothers and sisters, Ryan Redbird and Vanessa Youngbear were indeed blood related half-siblings with the same mother.

Dear Lord, touch the people involved in this tragedy, and reveal yourself to them, those that know you that they will draw nearer to you and receive Your Comfort, Your Mercy and Your Peace. Lord, those that don't know you, that they will be saved. Lord touch those hurt and have mercy on them, we especially pray for Ryan and also we pray for his Mom and for Brandon.
Lord, you see what has been happening in Thomas, we pray for a move of your Holy Spirit there so Your LIght will shine and cast out darkness in Jesus Name, Amen.
As of last night, Ryan was still alive yet they still can't control the bleeding so were planning on taking his leg last night or today.
He woke up once but they had to knock him out again when he tried to pull the tubes out of his mouth/throat.
If he survives this next surgery, the amputation, they say he'll be in the hospital about a year recovering from all the damage to his abdomen, groin and leg. He probably won't be able to have kids but heck, he can adopt.
Anything is possible as long as there is still life.
Our Native Indians are very smart, very athletic, very nice, decent people. They just seem to have a problem, some of them, staying away from drugs and alcohol.
Though, I can't say that Ryan drank ever, I'm just pointing out that those vices seem to bring alot of them down.
I wish I could help them, come up with some way or find them some help so that they'd have a better self image and not feel so inferior. It's like they have no hope in life especially after high school.
Maybe then so many wonderful promising lives wouldn't be cut short or ruined.
Continued prayers for Ryan. Ryan has a long hard road ahead of him it sounds like. My sister is an amputee. Depending on where they had to take the leg, Ryan may have a wide range of prosthetics with amazing mobility.
