"Do you have proof for the assertion that Islam is the cause of nearly all world violence?"

Here's a start:

http://www.iwvpa.net/trib_iraq/lucas_ph.htm

Phil Lucas, editor of the Panama City, Fla., News Herald, April 4, 2004, editorial "Up Against Fanaticism," says:

"We could fill the newspaper every morning with mobs of fanatical Muslims. They can’t get along with their neighbors on much of the planet: France, Chechnya, Bosnia, Indonesia, Spain, Morocco, India, Tunisia, Somalia, etc. etc. etc. Can anybody name three ongoing world conflicts in which Muslims are not involved? Today, where there is war, there are fanatical Muslims. We might quibble about who started what conflicts, but look at the sheer number of them."

First of all, he's the editor of a local newspaper. Not to disparage him, but on what authority does he speak about global conflict. Second, I am not suggesting that Muslims have not caused a significant amount of violence, I'm just saying that globally, they are not the cause of MOST violence. And yes, I named several ongoing world conflicts in which Muslims were not involved (and just because Muslims are involved, does not necessarily mean it is their fault, just to be fair-although, also to be fair, they did start many if not most of them). I'll list those conflicts again, although this is not necessarily a full list: Colombia, Sierra Leone, Burundi, Sri Lanka, Cote d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Haiti, and Liberia. So, Mr. Lucas should do his homework. Look, the terrorists are trying to incite a holy war, WHY FALL INTO THEIR HANDS? FINGHT THE TERRORISTS, NOT EACH OTHER!
