I think I'd keep my birthday. Just think about how the mother would have fought to save her child if she could have--obviously this mother wasn't given a chance to bring her child into the world safely and normally, but she still gave this baby life.

Boy, do I ever agree with you on that one. This renaming of something to be other than what it really is is the first stage of dehumanization - in the case of 'fetus', that is the first step into making the baby non-human (and therefore of course ok to abort). There are so many examples of this going on but this specific incident should be one case where no one should put up with it. Enough is enough.

Authorities "hopeful" they've found fetus taken from mother's body

MARYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in Missouri are "hopeful" they've found the baby girl who was cut from her mother's womb.

They say they're awaiting D-N-A tests to confirm the girl is the child of Bobbi Jo Stinnett. The 23-year-old had been eight months pregnant. She was found dead yesterday at her northwest Missouri home.

Nodaway County's sheriff says the fetus was found alive in Kansas, after an Amber Alert led to an anonymous tip.

He says the baby is being examined at a hospital, and appears to be healthy.

The sheriff says authorities are talking to two people in connection with the case. He didn't provide any details -- and says there's no apparent motive.
