Grand Island School Principal Charged With Drug Possession (NY)

My question is, Is he suspended with pay? If so why, it may be true that he is innocent untill proven guilty but, these drugs were found in his house and he has admitted to having a drug problem if the reports I heard are correct.

Mr Cannata is in charge of a school with our youngest students, this is incredible to me and makes me wonder what else goes on in our schools.

Grand Island is making it into the National News on the wrong foot and with the wrong image.

Last week stem cell firing and this week drugs. I think all teachers should be drug tested. School bus drivers do, teachers are with our kids 6 to 8 hours a day.

I am hearing sssooooooo much in the news lately about school teachers, principals, etc.

Up here there have been numerous reports of sexual abuse, drugs, selling drugs, pornography, harrassment, etc.

Scary stuff.

There used to be a Freeper who posted tons of stuff about the Pub Ed teachers and how messed up they were. He had every stat imagineable esp. on sex abuse. V's wife.

I see you are from Buffalo. I listen to Buffalo radio all the time...can't take Canadian media. We also share in some of your weather!

They should definitely be held accountable. What makes me angry is that by the time these people are caught, they have usually inflicted damage on many innocents. I think the ones we catch are the tip of the iceberg.

That's where I hear Rush. Plus they have Laura Ingraham on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.

I just emailed them because I would love to hear Laura Ingraham nightly rather than one of the shrinks. I am sure they will change their programming just to accommodate my wishes...right? 8^)

All this guy has to do is cite how Marion Barry was treated after his drug arrest and trial. He can use that case to get back to his job tomorrow. Before this is over, this guy will probably successfully sue to get his job back with back pay. There's no stigma or accountability for junkies if they wear a suit and have lunch with local govt. officials.
