I feel bad for the boy's sister. I hope she is able to recover mentally, as well as physically.

While we all know that an emotionally disturbed six year old should not have access to a gun, I agree with those who feel that he was intent on harming his sister. Had a gun not been available, he would have simply used something else.

I want to know more about this young man's pattern of behavior. Has he harmed animals? What else has he done to his sister? What do his teachers say about his behavior? Does he have any friends? Has he been previously diagnosed with any kind of mental disorders?

The fact that he feels no remorse for attempted murder is alarming. Counseling? I hope that is enough. I suspect we haven't heard the last from this miniature psychopath.
