COLUMBUS, Ohio The mother of the man who gunned down former Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and three others during a concert said her son was discharged from the military because he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia .
Mary Clark told Columbus television station WCMH on Wednesday that her son, Nathan Gale, was released from the Marines in 2003 after the military diagnosed the disorder. Gale's rampage ended last week when an officer shot him to death.

I raised a step-son in the 1980's, he developed adult onset P/S and could no longer live with us, he refused to take his meds every so often and was dangerous (I'm not a push-over, either).
This is sad, but for P/S with delusions, I still think some institutionalization is necessary. They are a danger to others.

With all due respect to the Mr. Abbot, the other two deceased, their families and friends, and everyone who was affected by this senseless killing, I can't quite grasp why there's been so much attention paid on this board to someone with the nickname "dimebag".
Maybe I'm just turning into a reactionary square.

So? The real question is why wasn't a citizen allowed armed in such a venue so that he could have taken the BG shooter out?

A buddy of mine was one of the people killed. That's why.
Perhaps you're having trouble seeing past the nickname. Free your mind.

Compliance with meds is a major problem so many do need institutionalization or a group home setting.

From the article:
>Clark, who asked the station not to show her face on camera, also said she bought the 9 mm semiautomatic handgun used in the shooting for her son, before he was diagnosed, because she was proud of his military service.
"I'll never, never be able to live that part down," she said.<

C'mon. Say something bad about the other people who were killed, including my friend. C'mon, say it.

I'm trying to draw them out. I have had it to my eyeballs with hypocritical alleged conservatives who see fit to bad-mouth and mock the dead - the dead, I might add, of whom they have not one damn bit of personal knowledge.
I find value in knowing who the ass-faces are around here. The list is getting longer.
