ah, a fellow linguistic antiquarian! excellent.

have ye yet had the joy of belabouring the gibbering idiots of the popular culture with the fact that the word "art" means "skill" - and has for two and a half millenia? Such joy to be had, as this allows the dismissal of nearly all modern and postmodern works as crap. It drives the drooling imbeciles quite dotty.

My late Great-Grandfather often referred to the modern and post-modern 'works' as:

"sheer, unadulterated liquified effluvia, meant for those who think that buggering their mums is the norm"

(Grandad was VERY well educated--and well read; but learned even more in the Royal Navy)
