I wholeheartedly agree with Zell Miller. I just saw today that a Councilman in Estes Park, CO. refused to say the Pledge because it contained the words "Under God". I wrote the editor of the newspaper and expressed my feelings about this so called "Patriot". Its time for Christian people to stand up as they did in the election.

Nuclear option? On ourselves?
I think he means the option to change the Senate rules to not allow filibusters on judicial nominations.

I'm sure it will be on the front page of the Slimes...

WOW! Zell is trying to get the train back on the track.
He should be tarred and feathered, and ridden out of this country on a rail. Talk about a good reality show, there's one for you.
I read this and thought, this man should be in the Republican VP spot in 2008.

"Yes, there's a deficit to be concerned about in this country, a deficit of decency." Amen, Zell! There is one democrat I could actually vote for.

Just so you all know, this is
not a recent speech. It's actually dated 2-12-04, and is in Zell's
floor statements archive on his congressional website.
It can be found
Here.
Remember, Zell already gave his retirement speech - so this is old.
That doesn't mean, in the slightest, that it isn't excellent, however.
Vanity - I just made a
Blog entry on it, as well.

This doesn't, to me, square with the honorable Sen. Miller's views on abortion...I wonder why he still holds to the death culture? He's come along, long way since delivering comrade Clinton's convention speech in '92...post-911 Democrat but pro-abortion. Too bad.

Yes, the cover story will read something like "The old man has lost his mind - a good case for euthanasia."

Not today!
Apologies to all. Someone goofed on the date at the Republicans for Life emailing list.
That said, the words are eternal.

How can Zell Miller's speech be compared to Michael Moore?
