Having recount after recount after can have a numbing effect after a while. There really needs to be a best two-out-of-three rule.

What is all this crap about a run for the Senate?

One, defeating Cantwell will be very difficult.
She has nothing to do with this election, and voters
are more partisan (meaning, in Washington, more
Democratic) in Senate races than in governor's races.

Two, defeating a Democratic senator has little to do
with how Washington state is governed. We need to fight
this until the bitter end. What if we'd given up in
Florida four years ago, huh?

Where's the fighting FReep spirit?????????????

We've not had a conservative Republican (although there was one or two conservative Democrats) elected to any statewide office, state or national, in as long as anybody alive can remember. At this point, I'm perfectly willing to settle for a RINO that would not go along with the Rats on a fillibuster, or who would vote to confirm any of President Bush's judicial nominees.

We did have Slade Gorton knock off a Democrat institution though, Warren Magnusson's thirty-six year Senate career ended in the great election of 1980. It happens only once in a blue moon, but it happens. Cantwell has done nothing to distinguish herself while in office.

Please explain yourself! Maria Cantwell and Osama Mama Patty Murray have voting records so identical, they may as well be conjoined twins! The only thing they're both smart enough to vote for is funding for WA state's military bases. If we had lost those, they'd be out on the peace train with Jim McDermott!

That's weird, for Cantwell supported the Iraqi liberation and doesn't believe Osama Mama's crap.

I could be wrong (I don't check the papers EVERY day) but every time I've seen a "Congressional Roll Call", or something like that, that shows how the Washington delegations voted in the House and the Senate, I have always seen Cantwell and Murray vote together. Yes, they've not always voted with John Kerry, but if we didn't have military bases (and a lot of them) in WA, I have no doubts they'd take the peacenik line.
