Exactly. And there is also an intensity underlying this issue. A lot of voters may have an opinion on Social Security reform, or gay marriage, but the issue hasn't impacted their lives directly.

There are millions of middle class Americans who have felt as if they had to sell their home because their neighborhoods and school districts were being overrun by illegals. And now have to commute 50-70 miles to work every day. They see illegals standing on the streetcorners, and committing crime on the evening news. They watch their local taxes increase every year, as illegals enter the public schools and hospitals. And then watched these higher taxes push employers and businesses to other states.

We can't afford to underestimate the intensity of this issue in the border states.
