You know you're from California if:
1. Your coworker has 8 body piercings and none are visible.
2. You make over $100,000 and still can't afford a house.
3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation in English.
4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Flower.
5. You can't remember . . . . . is pot illegal?
6. You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.
7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.
8. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?
9. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.
10. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S.
11. The guy at 8:30 am at Starbucks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney really IS George Clooney.
12. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.
13. You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cells or pagers.
14. It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents.
15. Both you AND your dog have therapists.
16. The Terminator is your governor.
17. If you drive illegally, they take your driver's license. If you're here illegally, they want to give you one.
I thought that just happened in Memphis.
110% ON THE MONEY!
No. 17 is gold.
You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?
these are great, and right on! Living in California, my teenage daughter babysits at our church, and she said a 6 yr old had a cell phone with him....
>>>>You know you're from California if...
You're Governor is a liberal, calls himself a Republican and acts like a Hollyweird actor.
bttt
Tell me again why people want to live there ?
All the furniture stores have been replaced by mass-market mattress outlet vendors.
#7 sounds familiar....
In the San Francisco area, you can make over $200,000 and still not be able to afford a house. ;)
You have a maxed out Starbucks credit card.
Because, on really cold days it gets down to 54 and on REALLY hot days, it gets up to 84.
Generally, we have a four degree temperature comfort range. Anything above 72, we complain about the heat. Anything below 68, we grab a sweater.
We're weather wimps.
And when the earth moves - the EARTH REALLY MOVES!
How about, "You own half a dozen guns but are unarmed. They're illegal here so you keep them at your mother's place out of state."
When ILLEGAL ALIENS have more rights than you.
When your kids carry their lawyers business card and threaten to sue you for child neglect (not enough allowance .. refuse to support them after they get married, didn't buy the BMW to keep up with their friends
Because it is beautiful. We lived in Sacramento, California back in 1961 for 8 years and my husband was there from 1957 to 1959. We used to drive down to LA to visit family. We could take all our kids to Knottsberry Farm for NOTHING. The only $$ you spent was for anything you wanted to buy once there. It was a great way to spend a day on little $$$. Lots of things for the kids to see and do that were for free. Then the big fence came up because Hippies were sleeping there overnight and so you had a nice place change.
Driving around Northern California was a joy. We used to take Sunday rides with a couple sandwiches for foood if we stopped somewhere. Beautiful countryside. Just gorgeous. California was green and golden as the sign said. We loved the California Bear.
So, it WAS all that was said about it. A great place to be. Climate wonderful and lots to do. I feel bad for California now. It's not the same place we remembered. But, it WAS a great place to live at one time. Absolutely. Now? I wouldn't give a plug nickel for it and THAT makes me sad. Very sad. But.... NO WAY..NEVER.
LOL!!

LMAO!!!! How true it all is!!!!
