Seriously, I think the key question that has not been asked is who paid for the "secret Battery Park City apartment" for all those years? An earlier thread estimated that rent for a furnished corporate apartment in Battery Park City would run $3000 - $6000 a month. Someone was spiffing Bernie to the tune of $36,000 to $72,000 a year! Bottom line is that, that particular "someone" owns Bernie. Serious blackmail potential
We can only speculate as to who the generous apartment provider is. It might just be a real estate developer/investor looking to reduce his security costs through increased police service. On the other hand, who knows, trucking companies are known to be generous at times. Waste management companies in the metro NY/NJ area are continuously striving to improve their relationships with local government.
We should all be thankful that Bernie had the good sense to pull the plug on his nomination before we got any further into the process.
I wonder what the 'trust level' is that Bush has for Giuliani now. I'd say trust has probably turned into suspicion.
What too many people are overlooking is the fact that bad Bernie does his job very well. The liberals obviously realize that or the liberal problems which they seem to avoid would not be pertinent. Further success against terrorism although a benefit for America is unhealthy for liberals in the next election, in other words, well you understand.
Very erudite and well, interesting.
Since you mentioned Rowan and Martin, thought I'd throw in the Dan Rowan mafia connection. Reading the Dark Side of Camelot now and apparently Sam Giancana was banging Phyllis McGuire and suspected Dan Rowan of doing the same. Apparently he had Rowan's room bugged but the job was bungled.
Your right. I dont know what I was thinking?! Artie Johnson is the dispatcher of that phrase I was thinking of.
What you're really saying is he knew how to suck up to the right people and run over the rest. I've seen this too many times.
Bernie's sleazy was well know around New York yet the FBI missed it. And there were also red flags and sob stories how he turned his life around.
No kidding. Aside from the fact he has a few of million bucks in the bank, (at least until his divorce is final) I'm Don Juan lined up next to him. I definitely have him beat all to hell in the hair department and I never threaten women. That is not a manly thing to do. ;~))
Sounds like we dodged a bullet with this creep.
Not to digress, but Sergeant Schultz wasn't famous for saying that. The dude who said "velly interesting" vas whatsisname on Rowand & Martin's Laugh-in, holding a cigarette kraut-style with his palm facing up.
Hey, what's the "standard" for media stories on politician's sex lives? Is there one? Apparently this was known for some time, as was Governor McGreevey's adultery. We all know what happened during the Clinton years, and the reaction of the Democrats to it ("It's just about sex, it's a private matter, etc."). There have been rumors for years about Hillary Clinton also. I used to be a Democrat and heard "private" things (second hand, so I won't go into detail) that could make things uncomfortable for her if they were treue and if she ever got the "Kerik" treatment.
So what is the standard? What SHOULD the standard be?
treue = true
Sorry. I need another cup of coffee . . .
Thank you for the compliment, and thanks for the info re: Rowan and the mob. I always thought he looked like a Rat Packer, with the tux and perpetually-smoking cigarette. So I guess hooking up with a mob girl was just one more attempt to crack his way into that elite group!
(The stuff just won't go away on Guiliani's golden boy.)

"He's maniacal. Insane," a terrified Regan confided in a pal. Kerik, she said, had Regan followed to Los Angeles. He showed up at her house. Threatened her.
Uh-uh.
The Saudis? Yes, it sounds tin-foil-hatty, but think about it. What better type of guy to have on your payroll than the NYC chief of police? Then, what better guy to have as the head of Homeland Security? Free passes for Arabs all around.
