Worse than that, dear. This is where you get my CPU to accept some inherently contradictory bit of information and my circuits explode in true Star Trek: The Original Series pyrotechnics.
(Didn't those highly advanced civilizations ever think of putting in a fuse to prevent that sort of thing? Hrm... And if the Enterprise is truly going where no man has ever been before, why are they always encountering p!ssed off aliens who don't like humans?)
