Most of the European Union leaders don't need laxative with Turkey around.
The Turks will wind up in the EU in all but name -- getting a special status that gives them the economic ties they would have, but still not part of the political structure of the EU. The European Union is very European, but it really isn't a union anyway, with the French rejection of the Euroconstitution.
