Thanks for the post. This is not a surprise,and denying Turkey entrance into the EU might start a chain of events that will stretch from Turkey to Albania and through the Balkans. It's anyone's guess on what Turkey's military will do if the situation spins out of control.

Indeed, that is grounds for keeping Turkey out of the EU. If the EU admits Turkey, terrorists with a Turkey passport will have free reign to travel through the EU, wreaking havoc. It's also not in the best interests of the US to have Turkey in the EU in that situation.
