I still disagree. Kennedy ushered in the era of the TV-ready pretty boy candidate. Ever since most every dem., and many republicans have tried to duplicate the JFK look and mystique. People are tired of the JFK schtick. A short bald man with glasses is the exact opposite of the JFK pretty boy schtick. Maybe the pendulum has swung and people are ready for a weird looking guy. There's a conspiracy theory floating on DU that actually makes some sense. Bush nominates Kerik with the intention of him not being confirmed to destroy any chance of Giuliani getting the nomination in 2008. I wouldn't be absolutely shocked if it were true.

As a journalist myself...if it were up to me I'd keep the national press pests in one big wire enclosure. That's where they deserve to be...in something similiar to what the RATS herded the protesters into during their convention this summer in Boston.
