N.Korea: Japan Sanctions Would Be War Declaration

TOKYO (Reuters) - North Korea (news - web sites) warned Japan on Wednesday that it would treat economic sanctions as a "declaration of war" and threatened to try to exclude Tokyo from six-party talks on Pyongyang's nuclear arms programs.
Calls are growing from the Japanese public and politicians for the government to impose sanctions on North Korea after Tokyo said bones Pyongyang had identified as those of kidnapped Japanese were from other people.
"If sanctions are applied against the DPRK (North Korea) due to the moves of the ultra-right forces (in Japan), we will regard it as a declaration of war against our country and promptly react to the action by an effective physical method," a spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry said.
North Korea handed over the bones at talks in Pyongyang in November, saying they were the remains of Megumi Yokota and Kaoru Matsuki, two of 13 Japanese whom Pyongyang has admitted abducting in the 1970s and 1980s to teach its spies about Japan.
Japan, which does not have diplomatic ties with North Korea, lodged a protest with Pyongyang and demanded clarification on the fate of 10 Japanese who Tokyo believes were kidnapped and are still unaccounted for.

We need to wrap up Iraq in a hurry.
There's a real hornet's nest getting stirred up in SE Asia, and we CAN'T be on the side-lines when it hits the fan down there.

I, for one, am getting pretty darn tired of this little man's threats...

Fine, treat it as a declaration of war, then we can move straight to a full naval blockade. And if they so much as twitch, to air strikes. These buffoons are so tiresome. Nobody is afraid of them.

If the Japanese change their Constitution and we give them a go ahead nod on developing nukes, the Japanese could handle North Korea all by itself. Not necessarily by attacking or invading but simply by asking the South Koreans and Chinese if they really want Japanese troops on the mainland again because if they don't handle it, Japan will.

japan got tired two years ago.
they have nukes.
they have interceptors.
they will end up kicking n. korea's ass.
we will help them.
China will crap their silk shorts. our message to them will be clear.
the axis of evil is about to find out just how deep the rabbit hole really goes.
alice, it seems, has taken the pill.

I think North Korea has, through their KCNA news agency, and radio/television affiliates, over the last 50 years, threatened something along the order of 1,230 times to launch a war against either the United States or Japan. They are now up to 1,231 it seems.
Fact is, we are in a state of War with North Korea still, as we speak. We just are at armistace level. We can go back to conflict anytime we wish.
Sidebar: By the way, KoRn, what does this have to do with S.E. Asia? Thanks.

F that. It's about time we whacked Mr. Ronery with an MX. That'd teach the South Koreans and Chinese a lesson about f'in with the U.S. infinitely better than Iraq has.

I guess if you are in Australia Florida is "up north"...
Its more along the lines of NE Asia, or simply East Asia.

Hehe true. None the less, it's a bad situation in THAT region. I hope we will be ready, but if hell broke loose there tomorrow we would be spectators I'm afraid.

Nahh. Not spectators. We would pull a Taliban on em. A few hundred guys with lazer pointers and some aircraft would spell trouble. S. Korea has lots of its own troops too that can do lots of leg work.
