Former Indiana Rep. Tim Roemer said Tuesday that he is considering whether to join the race for Democratic National Committee chairman.

At least eight other potential candidates have been exploring the job, which becomes available in February when Chairman Terry McAuliffe leaves. The decision will be made by a vote of the nearly 450 DNC members.

Roemer, president of the nonprofit Center for National Policy, served in Congress from 1991 through 2002. He also served on the Sept. 11 commission that investigated the 2001 terror attacks.

In a statement, Roemer said several prominent Democrats have asked him to consider leading the party. He said he is consulting with family and friends and will make a decision soon.

He may be the serious candidate. Both Reid and Pelocy endorse him, I believe.

Aw, it is going to be oh so good to watch the Dems chew each other up. I don't care who gets it, I will still call them "LOSERS".

Roemer used to be my congressman. Funny story, one night when I was working for his opponent who is now our current congressman I visited democratic HQ. I am jewish and joe lieberman was coming to town and some of our fellow congregants wanted to see the jewish VP candidate. I went in wearing my yarmulke and I asked for some tickets to see lieberman. The butch dike on duty asked if they were for me. I told her no they were for my friends. I told her that she shouldnt stereotype jews thinking they were all members of the rat party. I aslo told her I was on my way to roemers opponents office, chris chocola, to volunteer. SHe looked p*ssed off. I said though there is one thing I did like about roemer. She looed excited and asked whats that. I told her I liked itthat roemer was pro life. Her grin quickly turned to a frown. I got the tickets and walked out. I toldthe people at chocolas office and we had a good laugh.

Time roemer is supposedly pro life, but he is just a slimy guy who put in his 10 yrs got his golden pension and left. I dont care who the rats put in the position, it wont help them.

Also Roemer moved to virginia and sent his kids to school there. I remember during the race, roemers congressman in virginia, a republican, came to indiana to campaign against him. It was hillarious.
