If you'd like to be on or off this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.
WARNING: This is a high volume ping list
I had no idea how bad it is. None.
After years of monitoring the hate speech disseminated by conservative radio and Internet (one of my reports is cited in David Brock`s recently released The Republican Noise Machine), I am forced to conclude that the "politically correct" vitriol of the Israel-hating activist Left makes the venomous rhetoric of right-wing ideologues seem mild by comparison.
Its a rude awakening, but at least its an awakening.
Is there really ANY difference between the far right and far left nowadays? Has there EVER been any difference?
My conservative exposure comes from FR, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and the like. I don't hear anything like this, nor would I waste ten seconds listening to anyone who advanced such -can't adequately describe it-.
The credit for that goes to FR.

I suppose this admission of being a long-time Leftist actually strengthens the point he's making, but it's rankling that "pro-Israel liberals" have been so blasted thick-headed for so long.

Again, this illustrates the truth of the situation (as he lets us know that he really doesn't like admitting the poisonous anti-Zionism of the Left), but the fact that he was "forced" to conclude this against his will indicates that he'd much prefer the world to agree with his bizarre little time-warp. How sad.
As RightWingAtheist's question suggests, that may be a function of defining right and left in the context of hate. I can think of some pretty nasty stuff from what would perceived as the "right".
Wait a second! Wesley Clark isn't Dean's wife...Vermont only has "civil unions"...
Granted, if you look at the context, that's not what they're saying, but who has time to look at the context?
Neo, or any other kind of NAZI, are by definition, leftists.
This is not news.
I don't doubt you for a minute, but who are these people who are perceived to be on the "right?" Is it the Stormfront group types, about whom I know very little other than they seem to hate every one but themselves and others of their ilk?
Sure, the press says they're the right. Which they are, where it meets the left.
There is absolutely nothing right wing about National Socialist Worker's Party members.
In America, the "left" is those who would control every aspect of everyone's lives. (socialist, statists)
The right would therefore be those who advocate the lack of government and the advancement of individual rights and liberty. (Hint: nobody in government.)
Thomas Jefferson = right.
Hillarius Clinton = left.
This certainly doesn't surprise anyone does it? The Democratic party is FILLED National Socialists...

I don't know the authors context, but if his job was to look for hate on the right and he found more of it on the left, at least he's honest.
